Should subdomains also be added to your system?
-
Yes. Subdomains are just like domains. To have email on your subdomains, they need their own MX records. The subdomain should also be added to our system. You can however simply add a free domain alias for the subdomain if the destination mailserver is the same as the domain.

How do I restrict email from your servers in Microsoft Exchange?
-
To avoid spammers from directly delivering spam to your Microsoft Exchange server (without passing through our spamfilter servers first), you should only allow email from mx.spamexperts.com and fallbackmx.spamexperts.com. Note that you should NOT list our IP addresses since we regularly add new servers to our mail filtering clusters.
For more information on how to do this please see: support.microsoft.com/kb/319356 (How to Configure IP Address Restrictions).
-
What happens if the destination server is unreachable?
-
When SpamExperts Domain is not able to deliver the email to the destination mailserver, the email will be queued up to 4 days. The service will regularly retry to deliver the email until the server is reachable again.
-
What happens when your server is unreachable?
-
SpamExperts uses multiple servers hosted at different geographical locations. Whenever one of the servers experiences downtime, the other servers will automatically take over. All our servers are synchronized with each other so the user does not notice anything of such problems.
-
What happens with email identified as spam?
-
Email identified as spam will be blocked by our server and is bounced to the sending SMTP server. When the SpamExperts Domain service is not sure about the classification of a message, it will be tagged as [spam] in the subject and is delivered to the destination email server. SpamExperts Domain users can access the log files to identify what email has been blocked or allowed (only the sender/smtp/recipient information). Also, an IMAP training system can be activated to train the unsure messages to the system by simply classifying them as spam or not spam. More information can be found under the documentation section of the website.
-
What happens when a domain name exceeds the 3GB data transfer limit?
-
When a domain name exceeds the 3GB data transfer limit, we will contact the customer to discuss further action. You will not be billed afterwards for exceeded data transfer (assuming it is within reason). Generally when there is systematic overuse, an account upgrade is required.
-
What percentage of spam do you guarantee to stop?
-
Although many antispam companies claim to stop a certain percentage of spam, this is impossible to measure. Spam trends change daily, and depending on the type of email usage on a certain domain name such percentages can fluctuate drastically. We are confident our service will remove your spam problem and recommend you to try our service to experience the effectiveness.
-
What is the maximum message size?
-
The SpamExperts Domain servers do not have any message size restrictions. The size restriction is determined by the destination SMTP server.
-
Do you block certain file attachment extensions?
-
Because they are potentially harmful and often used by viruses the SpamExperts Domain servers block the following file attachment extensions: .bat, .btm, .cmd, .com, .cpl, .dll, .exe, .lnk, .msi, .pif, .prf, .reg, .scr, .vbs, .url

I am using SpamExperts Domain but still receive spam, how come?
-
When you have activated SpamExperts Domain but are still receiving spam there are several things you should check.
1. Verify that the MX records of your domain are set to mx.spamexperts.com. (priority 10) and fallbackmx.spamexperts.com. (priority 20). There should not be any other MX records. You can lookup your MX records using this link. If you have other MX records listed replace them with the SpamExperts records.
2. Check if the headers of the email show that the email has passed one of the SpamExperts.com servers. You will see the servername in the headers including some additional information about the SpamExperts classification. If you cannot find the SpamExperts headers and have checked step 1, you are probably receiving the spam from spammers using old cached lists with destination mail servers. It may take several days up to weeks before the amount of spam arriving this way will start reducing. To avoid this issue, you can configure your mailserver only to accept mail from mx.spamexperts.com and fallbackmx.spamexperts.com. Alternatively you can rename the destination mail server or use a different destination mail server that is not known yet to the public (NOTE: in this case, do not forget to also adjust your destination mail server in your SpamExperts Domain settings via the online user interface).
3. If you still receive a lot of spam, please contact us so we can find out what is going wrong.
